 At Spic Macay , NSIT, we have built a society that is devoid of all the anomalies of this increasingly technical and mundane world. We forget about our inner pure souls in this maddening rush to become what others have set the ‘targets’ for us. This society stands out for helping us to be able to connect to your inner self through perseverance and candor, imbibed through the pure and ethereal values of SPIC MACAY. Spic Macay seeks to conserve and promote an awareness of the rich and heterogeneous cultural tapestry amongst the youth of this country through focus on the classical arts, with their attendant legends, rituals, mythology and philosophy and to facilitate an awareness of their deeper and subtler values.

The Spic family- as the society is known as has its solid roots in the strong foundation laid due to the striving efforts of our seniors, presently studying in the college and pass-outs. Their hard work and determination has kept the flame of that torch alight that Spic Macay brings to us. It underlines and inculcates the spirit of volunteerism, humility and deference to each art form- ranging  from painting, folk and classical music and  dance forms, instrumental music and even photography.

Spic Macay makes it viable for us, students at NSIT to enjoy and absorb the ‘rasa’ of this great treasure embodied by the rich heritage of our country. With Spic Macay, the mystical and the magical, unknown to most of us, comes out and so close to us that its proximity leaves us awestruck. Attending a concert or a fest can take you by surprise when you come to know that you are sharing the same space and time with a ‘maestro’—a Padma awardee or a recipient of several national and inter-national laurels and honors. But that is not really significant: it’s the greatness of the art form worshipped by the connoisseur that will leave you spell bound. And that’s what is enchanting and inexplicable in words. It has to be gone through to acknowledge and revere it. That’s the charisma of this society and it welcomes everyone with open arms who is ready to give it a little time, effort and patience……………….
