Digital Signal Processing: Speech processing, prediction, noise reduction algorithm implementations
Communication Systems: Infra-red receiver, image processing algorithms implementations
CAD: Microprocessor implementation in VHDL, Genetic algorithms for circuit synthesis, etc.
The research related areas are:
Signal Processing - Signal processing is an area that deals with operations on or analysis of signals, in either discrete or continuous time, to perform useful operations on those signals. Signals of interest can include sound, images, time-varying measurement values and sensor data, for example biological data such as electrocardiograms, control system signals, telecommunication transmission signals etc.
Integrated Circuits - An integrated circuit is an electronic circuit manufactured by the patterned diffusion of trace elements into the surface of a thin substrate of semiconductor material. Computers, cell phones, and other digital appliances are now inextricable parts of the structure of modern societies, made possible by production of integrated circuits.
Microprocessors -A microprocessor incorporates the functions of a computer's central processing unit (CPU) on a single integrated circuit, or at most a few integrated circuits. It is a multipurpose, programmable device that accepts digital data as input, processes it according to instructions stored in its memory, and provides results as output.
Microwave Engineering -Microwave engineering pertains to the study and design of microwave circuits, components, and systems. The short wavelengths involved distinguish this discipline from Electronic engineering. This is because there are different interactions with circuits, transmissions and propagation characteristics at microwave frequencies.
VLSI Design -Very-large-scale integration (VLSI) is the process of creating integrated circuits by combining thousands of transistors into a single chip. VLSI began when complex semiconductor and communication technologies were being developed.
